Craftsman Inspections Referral Rewards Program - Participation Limitations

The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) prohibits referral payments of any kind to a Settlement Service Provider (Texas Administrative Code Rule 535.220), including the following types:

  • Real estate agent or broker;
  • Mortgage broker;
  • Title service provider;
  • Federally related mortgage loan originator;
  • Attorney;
  • A person who prepares documents, including notarization, delivery, and recordation;
  • Appraiser;
  • Inspector;
  • Settlement agent;
  • A person who provides mortgage insurance services;
  • A person who provides services involving hazard, flood, or other casualty insurance or homeowner's warranties; and
  • A person who provides any other services for which a settlement service provider requires a borrower or seller to pay.
